SPMU stands for Semi Permanent Makeup. It is a treatment using Micropigmentation to create beautifully pixelated brows and lips that once done you can expect to last between 1-2 years. The treatment is performed with a digital machine to implant pigment.
SPMU can last between 1-3 years, there are lots of factors that can affect how long your SPMU lasts such as age/sun exposure/skin type/lifestyle etc however on average it will last 1-3 years.
After your initial appointment you will have a top up 4-6 weeks later, which will be included with the price of your original appointment. After that it is recommended to get annual colour boosts. However, some people won’t need a colour boost for 18months - 2years. If in doubt, get in contact and we will figure out if you are ready for a colour boost or if it is too soon. Alternatively, it you turn up with barely any pigment left to a colour boost you will be charged for a full treatment as It will take two sessions to create the desired result.
For lips the healing time is 5/7 days superficially, however it takes around 4 weeks for you to completely heal and for the true colour to appear.
For brows it takes 10-14 days to heal superficially and around 4 weeks to completely heal ready for your top up.
For further detail on the healing process please get in touch.
Having permanent makeup doesn’t hurt, it has a scratchy sensation, but pain is extremely minimal. Also, after the first pass you will have plenty of numbing cream applied so you will be completely comfortable.
SPMU is suitable for most people however there are some reasons you may not be able to have SPMU.
You can’t have SPMU if you are -
I am based in Danbury, Chelmsford, Essex in a quiet hair salon, there is parking right outside the front of the shop.
Your initial appointment will be around 2.5 hours, the top up will be around 1.5 hours
Yes, I will go over other peoples work but not all the time, every case is different, if you have had previous work done elsewhere make sure you let me know and send me pictures beforehand so I can tell you if I will be able to go over them or if I would recommend a different route of action.
Aftercare will be given to you at your appointment or consultation, however ahead of your appointment you should consider that you won't be able to get your brows wet for 10 days and you should keep them out of the sun for 2 weeks to allow them to heal, after the 2 weeks you should keep spf 50 on them at all times for maximum colour retention.
It is not necessary for you to have a consultation however, if you would like one then you can book one in to discuss any questions you may have about the treatment to get a better understanding of the whole process.
